Yucaipa, CA, October 3, 2013 – Middle school and high school students interested in attending a military academy should note two upcoming “U.S. Service Academy Nights” in the county. The free events are a chance to learn more about the nation’s five service academies: the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
School representatives will be on hand to answer questions about entrance requirements, Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarships, military preparatory schools, and congressional nominations.
High school seniors seeking admission to for the Fall 2014 semester must submit a completed nomination packet to Congressman Paul Cook’s District Office by December 1, 2013. More information regarding nomination packets can be found online here. Students interested in attending the U.S. Coast Guard Academy do not need a congressional nomination.
