Big Bear Lake, CA, January 30, 2014 – The Big Bear Chamber of Commerce has scheduled their 5th Annual Gala, and announced its theme. “Denim & Diamonds” will be held at the Northwoods Resort on March 8th, from 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., featuring country singer Brent Payne, old-time photography by Millener Productions and dinner.
Because this is the organization’s major fundraising event, they are soliciting donations for a variety of auctions and raffles that will add fun to the evening.
The financial support will help the Chamber continue for the second year business education for local youth. The free program was offered to high school students in its pilot year, designed to help them develop skills to “think outside the box” in creating their own businesses.
Chamber Executive Director Pam Scannell says they would like to extend this training to students at Big Bear Middle School too. But with costs totaling $1,000 per student, fundraising items are crucial.
